鐵道博物館自2016年以來，協助與臺灣讓路相關設施的調查活動，為更深化雙方的合作與親善，促進研究展示與博物館業務發展，2023年7月與臺灣的國家鐵道博物館籌備處簽署「交流合作協定」。本展覽以「臺灣鐵路的飲食文化」為主題，介紹臺灣鐵路，臺、日餐車的歷史與概要，以及鐵路便當的歷史，並介紹位於臺北市預計2027年正式開幕、正在籌備中的國家鐵道博物館。展示說明為繁體中文、日文並列，展件資料主要由臺灣方面提供，本館也提供部分資料配合展出。臺灣鐵路的飲食文化深受日本所影響，尤其「鐵路便當（驛弁）」己廣為臺灣人所熟悉。期待透過展覽，觀眾可埋解臺日之間文化的連結與脈絡，特別是臺灣發展出的在地特色。配合展覽將舉辦特別活動，並於館內餐廳提供聯名餐點與展覽專刊等銷售。

In this exhibition, we will introduce Taiwan's railway system, the history of dining train cars and the Ekiben lunch box in both Taiwan and Japan. Taiwanese cuisine is believed to have been influenced by Japanese culinary culture, with Ekiben in particular deeply rooted in Taiwanese people's way of life. We hope you enjoy exploring the connections and historical backgrounds of our shared cultures, as well as the uniquely developed local characteristics in Taiwan. Additionally, we will introduce National Railway Museum in Taiwan, which is set to have its grand opening in 2027.
